Feeding Programs Must Go On...

March 6 and 7, 2010

A Haitian Creole Proverb...

"Lamizè fè cheni manje fey tabak."

"Misery/hunger makes the caterpillar eat tobacco leaves."

Hunger makes one desperate.

These are just some of the thousands of hungry, desperate people who are still suffering because of the earthquake.  Due to the problems of security and desperation, we cannot "stand in the middle" of thousands of people and pass out food.

So, we decided to rent ten big "box trucks," buses and a tap tap to bring the people to a safe place to give them food.

We brought them all the way to the village of Le Tant, where we already had four villages coming together for food...

We unloaded all the food and put it inside our church in Le Tant...

The crowds were huge!  The big guy in the front is Nathan, he is big, mean and not a Christian, but he can control crowds very well...smile.

The crowds of people began to line up in front of the only door leading into the church...

Hungry mothers and fathers receive food and are so thankful...

As the people left the church, they climbed into a tap tap or truck with their boxes of food...

Many left on foot...

...and some left on donkeys...

...but they all left with food.

This food is so important...it satisfies their hunger and gives them hope...and hope makes life.

Even though Love A Child is in the midst of the enormous recovery effort of the Earthquake Disaster, we still must continue with all our other projects.

Thank you for wanting to share your food, with those who are hungry. You do this by sponsoring food that is donated to us by our partners at Feed My Starving Children.  Then Love A Child and you, our partners, pay all the costs associated with transporting the food from the States to Haiti, getting it released from Haitian Customs and transporting it here to the Food Distribution Center at our Love A Child Village.

After that, we share it with 40 other missionaries and orphanages each month...

Thanks to Feed My Starving Children for donating the rice food, and thanks to all our Love A Child Parnters, for their donations, both large and small and widow's mite, for helping sponsor this food to Haiti.  Special thanks to Joyce Meyer Ministries - Hand of Hope, who sponsors one container of food each month, 270,000 meals and to Pastor Jentezen Franklin - Kingdom Connection, for sponsoring two containers, or 540,000 meals each month..."anpil men, chay pa lou..." With a lot of hands, the load is not heavy."

We must continue to do this and we need your help...

Please click the red button below to sponsor a container of food (270,000 meals) with a gift of $10,000.  You can sponsor a entire village with food for one month with a gift of $1,000.  For your gift of $120, you can sponsor fifteen families with food for a month, or you can sponsor five families with food for one month with a gift of $40.  For a gift of only $8, you can sponsor one family with food for a month!  Please give your best today!

Hunger is not a pleasant thing and we must feed these desperate people and children.  "Hunger makes people desperate."
