Creole Bibles distributed to the Poor of Haiti

“For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

— Romans 15:4

This year Love A Child has been blessed with many wonderful partners and sponsors who contributed so graciously to our Creole Bible Distribution Program.

What a blessing the Word of God is! Sometimes, we Christians don’t understand what a great thing the “Word of God” can be! For Haitians, they could never save up the money to buy a Bible. So, when the team from Life Changers International Church in Chicago, Illinois came to Haiti, they sponsored and distributed Creole Bibles to Haitians at our Jesus Healing Center. Just look at these patients reading their new Bibles, while waiting for the doctor! Do you think you would ever see this in the States?

We often visit this high mountain village called Peyi Pouri. We built a new church for them on top of the mountain, and we put a lighted cross near the church that can be seen for many miles down in the valley. We distributed new Creole Bibles, which were very special to these people and brought such joy.

Early one morning, Bobby drove to Jérémie to visit the people and children living in the cave. He took food and Creole Bibles. Imagine how these poor people felt when they could go outside the cave and read their very own Bibles!!!

These Creole Bibles and food will give them hope, and the Haitians say, “Hope makes us live!” The trip is long, and the cave is difficult to get to, but the trip was so worth it!

“Hope makes us live!”

These are just some of the precious families from the southern area of Haiti who were living in “the cave,” and had been there since Hurricane Matthew! We had already delivered a large supply of Creole Bibles, but the need was great…and so we sent more. These Creole Bibles (5,000 of them) were donated by Pastor Gregory Dickow of Life Changers International Church. Now, these people have “hope!” They will “sleep” with this Bible under their straw mats each night, trusting in a “God” they have never seen.

What a wonderful blessing for the “Voodoo village” of Despeezo to receive new Creole Bibles and food!!! The Creole Bibles were purchased by Pastor Gregory Dickow of Life Changers International Church, and the food was donated to us by our friends at Feed My Starving Children. The New York Dream Center Team distributed the Bibles, and the village people were very excited. Love A Child partners “sponsored the transportation” for the food to come all the way from the States, and get released from Haiti Customs and finally transported here to Love A Child!

The Faith Church Team worked very hard here in Haiti! They traveled to a Voodoo village that American missionaries rarely visit. They took Creole Bibles, and went “hut to hut,” and prayed with everyone they met in the village. Our missionary Kaeli said, “These people were so sweet and hungry for God.” Just think, the “Spirit of God” invaded Voodoo territory! Way to go Faith Church of St Louis, MO! God bless you Pastors David and Nicole Crank! We love you and your church!

The Lord recently brought us to the village of Chambrun. It is a large Voodoo village filled with poor people. We have already met with the leader, who is also the main “houngan” (witch doctor), and also a political leader. We had the opportunity of helping these people, praying for them, giving them Gospel tracts, Creole Bibles and also “Proclaimers.” (Cassette players in Creole with the entire Bible on them!) Chambrun will be a “tough village,” and we will fight a lot of spiritual battles, but we are on the winning side!

Gospel tracts, Creole Bibles and also Proclaimers for poor Haitians.

One of the greatest outreaches we can do here in Haiti for the poor is our Creole Bible Distribution. Poor people, who have never owned a Bible, treasure this Bible like gold! They love the Word of God! Let’s pray that God will provide more Creole Bibles for the people of Haiti!

Haitians love the Word of God!

We want to continue distributing more Creole Bibles to the poor in Haiti. Will you consider becoming a sponsor for Creole Bible Distributions in the future? Let’s make a difference in the lives of Haitian families, especially the children! This program may change the whole village!
