Word from the Mission Field

“Look on Us…”

In Acts Chapter 3:1-12 is the story of a man lame from birth. He had NEVER walked before in his life so he just resigned himself to being a “beggar for life.” He wanted to work, he wanted to walk, he wanted to go into the temple, but every day was the same. He was carried to a spot outside the temple so that he could beg.

One day, he asked two men for money, Peter and John. But, they had no money… all they had was “faith in God,” in Jesus’ name, so they told him, “look on us!” Or, “look us straight in the eyes. We can give you something better… In the name of Jesus Christ, get up and walk!”

And he did. In fact, he was doing a little two-step, walking, jumping, and leaping into the temple, healed. Today, the world outside needs a savior. They are bound by drugs, alcohol, hatred, fear, and despair. We, who are Christians, need to let the world see Jesus in us, so that we can say, “Look on us! We can give you Jesus!” Today, the world needs “Peter and Johns’.” Will you be that today? Will you shine hope into someone’s life today? Sherry
