“They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.” Nehemiah 4:17

The people of Israel had come together to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem; but they had many enemies. With one hand, they held their “tool” and with the other hand, their “weapon.” When we are working for the Lord, we must always keep one hand on a weapon because Satan is always ready to attack.
