“You Don’t Need a Whole Lot…Just Use the Little You Got!”
Did you ever notice that Jesus did His greatest miracles with “little or next to nothing to work with?”
His first miracle was to change the water into wine at the marriage in Cana of Galilee. I remember his mother Mary saying, “Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” John 2:5 – Then, we see Jesus and his disciples when they went up on a mountain for Jesus to teach and preach the Word of God…5,000 “men” sat down, but the Bible does not tell the number of women and children, but we can say, a minimum of 5,000. Jesus tested his disciples saying, “How shall we buy bread that these may eat?”
Now, the disciples are worried about the crowd and how to feed them. Philip said that even if they had 200 pennyworth of bread (a year’s wages), it would not be enough to feed them. But Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother said, “There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?” John 6:9 – You know the story…Jesus made them sit down on the grass and took the loaves and fishes and “fed all the people with twelve baskets of food left!” Sometimes, we may think “our little is not enough for Jesus.” Maybe we feel we have no education, no talent, no training or no money. But, when “we use what we have” Jesus multiples it! So, “it doesn’t take a whole lot! Just use the little you got!” Have a blessed day! Sherry
