UPDATE ON HAITI SITUATION: We have been waiting since noon today for the prime minister to speak, as promised. He has not as yet. The president spoke two days ago. I was wondering why things have settled down today. More people are on the roads. You can pass by blockades coming out here to Fond Parisien. I just had someone drive from Pétion-Ville to see us on some business. He had no problems, thank God! Why is it better today? Did you see on the news the punks burning our American flag? The opposition got on the radio last evening speaking to millions of people saying how they were against them burning the American flag. How all the Haitians love America, and how we are brothers, we are partners, we are friends! We love America!! How it will be after the prime minister speaks, I don’t know. We may have peace or all H may break loose. We are fine out here in Fond Parisien. Everyone is very kind and gracious to us. Haitians love Americans and Americans love Haitians.
