This is little Bethina. She was brought to our clinic yesterday, but our doctors had so many patients and so many emergencies that they did not have the time to “clean her head” and treat her. So, Jessica and I brought her into our “Mobile Medical Clinic” storage area to scrub her head. She is the “niece” of one of our workers.
We cut all the rest of her hair off and began to scrub her head. She was full of sores, but we noticed that she had some tiny “holes” throughout her scalp. Her uncle came to us today saying that “worms were coming up through the holes in her scalp.” We sent worm medicine, Metronidazole, and one other kind of worm medicine to her!
In Haiti, worms can kill children. They can get in their intestines or cause huge skins sores and many more problems. This is why we deworm all of the children in all our schools and also at our Mobile Medical Clinics. Some of the things we see “every day,” we can never even mention in a post. Let’s just say, “it’s worse than you can imagine,” and that there is a great need in Haiti for medical care. God bless all of our partners who help sponsor Mobile Medical Clinics, and God bless Joyce Meyer Ministries — Hand of Hope for sponsoring the operating cost of our Jesus Healing Center!! Sherry
