If ever we have seen the “spirit of fear” at work, it is with the “coronavirus.” It is a pandemic of fear. (People are even afraid of “running out of toilet paper!”)
Fear is our greatest enemy, and it is a “spirit.” Living here in Haiti, every day we see what “fear” does to people. You cannot even imagine unless you have lived here. For every sickness, there must be an “evil spirit” causing it, whether it is cancer, diabetes, or heart problems. Anything that can make your stomach swell “has to be an evil spell” put on someone by a witch doctor. Of course, it costs money to have that spell removed!
2 Timothy 1:7 declares, “For God hath not given us the ‘spirit of fear;’ but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” That means that “fear” is a “spirit.” But God has given us the spirit of “power,” the spirit of love, and the spirit of a sound mind! Do yourself a favor today and stop worrying about the economy and the coronavirus. You can do nothing about it but be diligent and pray. The best “sanitizer” you can have is the “spirit of God!”
Take “one day at a time” and try to help someone in need. And keep lifting up Jesus, the “author, and finisher of our faith,” but above all, “do not let the spirit of fear” take hold of your life. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world! Have a great day in Jesus and “do not fear!” Sherry
