“Pray, and let God worry…” Martin Luther
Peter’s miraculous story of his escape from prison is found in Acts 12:3
Herod, the king, is arresting those who are preaching the Gospel and Peter is at the top of the “most wanted” list. His soldiers take Peter and throw him in prison, but “prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.”
They bound Peter in chains, between two guards, and also set keepers in front of the door of the prison. But, when “prayer went up,” a miracle came down! An angel of the Lord came right in and “smote Peter on the side…” and told him to get up, put his clothes on and his sandals, and follow the angel. As they came to the main city gate, it had an “automatic gate opener,” (another angel), and Peter walked right through.
Peter was trying to take all this in and made his way back to the house of Mary, the mother of John, who was with all the prayer warriors. As Peter was knocking on the gate, a little girl saw and came and said, “It’s Peter!!” They all told her, “You are crazy!” But, she continued talking… then, they thought it was an “angel” at the gate, but, it was Peter!
Sometimes, we pray and pray, and then, “God does it,” and we are so shocked, that we can’t believe it!!! Today, as you may be in that “fiery trial,” or that test, or have that heavy load on your shoulders, “pray, and let God worry about it!” And, have a wonderful day! Sherry
