Update 1:
We had organized our food distribution in Truttier (the garbage dump) by sending in our food cards for the 330 families who live in this garbage dump area. This also included the “surrounding area” to receive their food from us this Thursday. The people were very hungry, and the children have been crying for food. Sherry and I were going to distribute 1,000 nice big tilapia fish and rice. We had sent in money to build a strong fence for protection and to keep it all organized. We also planned to hire the local police in that area for security. We were looking forward to sharing Christ with them, the “real manna…”
Today we received word that it’s much too dangerous to come. The gangs in the area have started a wave of terror. They have been shooting, robbing, and much more that I cannot mention… Our hearts are broken today for the poor families and children in the area. We were so looking forward to this and worked very hard, only to have all of this happen now. Please pray for these families and for the country of Haiti. We are waiting until it is safe, and then we will go in!
Update 2:
As you know, we did not make it into L’Artibonite yesterday where we feed 1,000 children per day a “hot cooked meal” six days a week. But it has been worked out so that tomorrow we will be leaving to travel to the village. PTL! We will also be sharing what happened on our future TV program and you will see scenes from tomorrow. On Facebook, I will be sharing who all is with us and how the Lord opened the road! The children of Haiti will “steal your heart!”
Love is something you do…
P.S. Enclosed are some beautiful “Love A Child” school children in this area! What a difference “hope and education” make in the lives of the poor!!! We are so thankful to all of our wonderful partners who sponsor children in our school!
