Yonel… from “Death to Life.”

The first time Bobby and I saw him was in a Mobile Clinic in the mountains. His baby sister had died from malnutrition and he was suffering from Marasmus malnutrition. We could see every bone in his body. It was about a nine-hour trip back to our home and on the way, we stopped to get some mangos for Yonel. He ate nine, without stopping!

He later regained his health. His life has had “ups and downs,” like the story of the “prodigal son.” After his “steering away into the wrong direction,” we brought him back and found a job for him. It turned out that he is an excellent painter, and he will probably always have a full-time job here at Love A Child! He is his “old self” again and loves being around his brothers and sisters. He celebrated Christmas last night with us and afterward, he said, “I have good news! I’m getting married in February!”

Since God has always given “us” a “second chance” we try to do the same thing. Yonel is doing well and it will be exciting to see this once “malnourished little boy,” walking his bride down the aisle! God is an “amazing,” ever-loving, always forgiving God! We all love Yonel and we pray God’s blessings upon his life and his new “bride to be!”
