Sandraline is 12 years old and she is a “sweetie.” I call her “lollipop” because she is so sweet!

She was born in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti, not far from us. When her mother died, her father, Fritzner, had to pay a lady to take care of her. His small job was fixing bicycle tires. He finally realized that his work could not support the lady who was caring for Sandraline. He brought her to our orphanage.

I was shocked to see this baby screaming and crying with oozing pus-filled sores. She was scratching and crying…we took her in but she cried constantly. It took a long time for her to heal. She is now in the fourth grade but struggles with school. Even though she has a hard time in school, she loves it. And, she loves to sing! Her favorite thing is “helping with the small children and helping in the laundry room.” She is so so sweet and that’s why I call her “lollipop!”
