Update on Jackson (Jasson)

This past week has been a week of hospital care for our kids. Dieuferly is recovering from his club-foot surgery and doing well… but Jackson had a setback. Even with the great care of the room mothers here, he developed an infection and high fever with the central catheter in his neck. They watched it for a day, but then, decided to take him to the hospital. They had no room at “Petite Frères et Soeurs,” nor Bernard Mevs hospital, so he is going to Hospital Espoire. Actually, he made six visits back and forth to doctors this past week, and now, they are keeping him until the infection leaves.

It is our heart’s desire (if it would be possible), to get Jackson to the Dominican Republic for a kidney transplant. He has suffered so much already and with the gangs in control, and the dangers, it is far worse for him to continue to get treatment here in Haiti, far more dangerous, and also more expensive. I am not sure if children this age could have a transplant if they found a “fit,” but maybe some of you may have some experience with this. Please remember our children here at Love A Child in your prayers… we have many with major health conditions. Thank you and God bless you so much, Sherry
