Our first “40-foot container” of the earthquake tents arrived here late yesterday afternoon! This is fast! Now, Nelio, our director is working with customs to get them out ASAP.
Our next problem is getting the tents out to the earthquake epicenter where the most damage was. We must travel through “Martissaint” where the gangs have complete control… If they are not standing in the street to stop you, then they have their big guns sticking out of windows to shoot at containers to stop them and take everything.
We must travel through this way to get to the families who need our tents. We really need your prayers and God’s wisdom. Casimi will be driving our semi with the container. We must follow behind him with our vehicles.
Our first load of tents will be between 1,200 and 1,500. I asked yesterday, “in this one area where we will first work, could they use all 1,500 tents?” Hubert, who is organizing the tents and where to set them up, said in a trembling voice, “if we had 5,000 tents we would not have enough!!” It’s been rainy out there around three days a week; our hearts go out to the families.
Thank you for your prayers and your very generous support. We are a “team,” working together for the Lord to bless the poor.
We must overcome some obstacles, let’s pray together…
