“Enough is Enough!” (fullness of time)
When Bobby and I were married, we were only sure of one thing… We both knew that God had a plan for us in the ministry. Bobby was just 18 when I met him and I was 17. We both came from families that were not “well off,” so facing struggles didn’t bother us.
For years, Bobby knew that God had a plan for his life that was for evangelism. We didn’t have any money and no one wanted us to preach in their big church… so, we borrowed chairs from the local funeral home, found a small empty lot on the side of the road, and with a bullhorn, began our ministry.
Bobby would always say, “Sherry, it’s not always going to be this bad, God has shown me that He would open doors and bless us, in the future…” But after many years of struggling, it was discouraging.
We struggled for years. Most of our preaching was in small, poor areas, both in poor white areas, and poor black areas. Many times the offerings were so low, we would ask people to bring in “canned goods.” My mother kept our children drinking “milk,” and she was always slipping us a little money to live on.
Someone once said, “Tough times don’t last… but tough people do!” Little did we know that God had a plan for our lives all those struggles were on purpose. He knew that someday, He would send us to Haiti, but in blessing, and that’s where our blessing would be!
Maybe you have been going through something for years, or maybe you have lost “everything…” Perhaps you have suffered the loss of a job or your back has been against the wall, for as long as you can remember…
Just one thing to say… “It will come to pass, that the Lord will say, “Enough, is enough! Satan, take your hands off my property, and let the blessings begin!” It WILL HAPPEN!” Begin to thank God in advance!
