To those of you who knew the shy, stuttering, and sweet Georges, he looks completely different in his “Wedding Announcement!” But, Georges will always be Georges! He is marrying an adorable sweetie named Agoustine, and he has known her for a long time. “Love is in the Air!”

They will be married on April 9th! It seems like just yesterday that I was downtown in Port-au-Prince at a Pharmacy buying medicine. A young girl behind the counter told me about a poor mother who had many children and was pregnant. She was going to leave her baby at the General Hospital because she could not take care of another child. The young Pharmacy worker asked me if we could take the baby when the time came. I said, “Yes!”

But, Hurricane Georges struck before the mother could get to the hospital. Someone called me to go and get the baby, and we named him “Georges.”

Georges was always a good kid! But one day, I found out he had been driving our backhoe and front-end loader before he was even growing whiskers! (About age 12.) Since then, he has always been driving “anything with wheels.” Georges is kind, shy, funny, lovable, and hard-working. He has found a place to stay for a while, but hopes to build a small house one day! We can’t wait to see Georges get married to his sweetie, Agoustine!
