Jackson’s Coming Home!

Monday, Jackson will be returning from two weeks in the Dominican Republic. He has been undergoing Dialysis. As most of you know, Jackson has had kidney failure since we brought him out of the mountains of Savaan Pit about five years ago. He had Kwashiorkor Malnutrition, and he was “skin and bones,” and full of water. We had sent him on many trips to the doctors here in Haiti. Several months ago, he had gone to a doctor and hospital here in Haiti to have a “port” put in for Dialysis. He did not do well with the care he had in Haiti. And, there is only one Dialysis machine in Haiti, that we know of.

We are thankful to Jesse Ostrander, who spent much time in the Dominican Republic looking for the right doctor for Jackson, and the nutritionists to get him on a special diet that he will be on the rest of his life.

The doctor told Jesse that Jackson needed a “Pediatric Dialysis machine.” By a miracle of God, one of our donors sponsored this machine. We sent two of our nurses to the Dominican Republic, to train on the machine… Jovanie (who is one of our Love A Child kids) and Phanise, who is also a nurse here at our Jesus Healing Center. We rented an apartment in the D.R. and these two nurses were trained by the D.R. doctors on how to use the Dialysis machine on Jackson. The Dialysis machine will come back to Haiti with Jackson.

A special room here at the Orphanage had to be sterilized and sanitized for Jackson and his machine. It will run all night, and in the morning, Jackson will be able to go to school.

Of course, we are believing God for “bigger and better things” for Jackson, but we are thankful for what we have now… “hope!” The children here are so excited and they will be decorating our “home,” for Jackson’s return Monday afternoon! We give God all the Praise!
