“Lending to the Lord.”

How would you like to “lend money to the Lord?” That seems impossible but the Bible declares, “He that hath pity upon the poor, lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he, (you), have given, will He pay him again.” Proverbs 19:17

To those of you who have been giving to the Lord, blessings are about to take you over! When Bobby and I first moved to Haiti, the Lord spoke to us about “giving to the poor.” We thought, “Wow, ‘we’ are poor. How can we give to the poor?”

But, the Lord was teaching us that there is always a way to give to the poor, if your heart is open, and no, we have never gone broke, “giving to the poor.” We were in a small church one night in Melbourne, Florida, many years ago. A “man of God,” was there ministering. We were flat broke and had hardly anything for the offering, but we gave what little we had. He talked to us a short time after, and said, “I see that you will be going overseas and you will be working with ‘poor children of another race’ in another country, and you will be in a ‘two-story’ orphanage. And God will bless you!!”

At that time, we had never even thought about an orphanage in a foreign country, but that is exactly what happened. And, as we moved and obeyed the Lord in giving to the poor, God’s blessings began to come upon us! We still love to give to the poor! And we know that you do, too… Expect God to keep His Word and He will!!! Look for those blessings to come!!! And, have a blessed day!
