The “Spirit of Jealousy.”
I believe that jealousy might be one of the “seven deadliest sins.” Jealousy makes good people turn into hateful, evil people. You may be innocent, on your job, doing your best, but believe me, someone is eyeing you, and because you are doing a good job, a “spirit of jealousy,” is moving in!
David was a shy, simple shepherd boy, minding his father’s sheep. He was a young valiant man, obedient to his father and to his king, Saul. The Lord told the prophet, Samuel, that David was “a mighty valiant man, and a man of war and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him.”
At first, King Saul loved David, who played the harp before the Lord for his king. David fought Goliath and took him down. But the day came when David went out and fought against the Philistines and won the war… but the moment King Saul heard all the ladies dancing and singing about David, “an evil spirit” came upon Saul and he threw a javelin at David, trying to kill him! It was the “spirit of jealousy!”
My friend, this is very real. Having problems with your job? Perhaps it is a “spirit of jealousy!” You must be aware. Even your best friend can pick up that spirit! But the good news is that you have the power to “bind that spirit,” in the name of the Lord! Perhaps you have been wondering why some of your friends have turned against you, or perhaps, even a church member! Beware! The good news is that God is on your side! When you realize this is an evil spirit of jealousy, God will show you what to do and what “not to do!” Have a great day and remember that “God is on your side!”
