The Dieubon Family

This story is about Madamn Dieubon and her family. She is living in an area called Te Cho. Her husband, Saintilus, and Madamn Dieubon have a family of 15 children together.

They are living in horrible conditions; the mother is always crying because she can’t take care of herself and her children.

Mr. Dieubon’s only job is: Working with tree leaves that are called “PIT.” He uses this material to make rope, a cultural hat, or a cultural bag. This takes a LOT of work!

None of the children go to school because they can barely afford food! They have hardly any food, water, or clothes. This means “they don’t have any hope.” The last time when they were hungry, their mother couldn’t find anything to feed them. She went and picked “wild leaves” and boiled them and put salt into them! That’s all they had to eat! “Saltwater soup!”

Our workers took boxes of food and beans to them. It was the first decent meal they could remember!!! Thank you for “considering the poor…” Psalm 41:1-3

Note:

In this large family, Mr. Dieubon may have had two wives. We did not ask. They live so far in the mountains there is no way to get birth control and no money to buy it.
