Medical Travel to the Dominican Republic

This morning, at 7:30, our driver, Philemond, left with precious cargo traveling to the Dominican Republic for medical purposes. On the left, you see Dimelia, “Di Di.” She has been with us since she was very young. She will be seeing a plastic surgeon to determine if they can do skin grafts on her chest. She was burned from her neck, almost to her waist when she was a child. As she grows, she needs elasticity in her chest area.

She will return this week and stay until college resumes in Jamaica. Jackson, the short young boy, has to go in for blood work and a check-up, due to his kidney disease. All of his dialysis medication, special foods, and two nurses (trained for dialysis), have to travel with him. Last, you see Camy, the tall man, with his wife and baby. The baby was born with a cleft pallet, but there are no specialists left in Haiti to do this type of surgery, and none are coming in due to gangs. Camy, his wife, and the baby will have to make several trips for surgeries. Please, if you can help financially with these medical expenses, we would be so thankful. Thank you for your prayers and support.

We are extremely humbled and grateful to you, our partners, who have prayed for us, encouraged us, and helped in many ways. Special thanks to Jesse Ostrander, who meets with the doctors, lines up the visits, stays with Jackson when he has surgeries, and helps us in so many ways! God bless you all, Bobby and Sherry
