Ti Mika “Burnette” is now 14 and in 9th grade. We first found her while taping for a TV program. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw an elderly grandma put a few grains of rice in the baby’s mouth and then sat her on the ground! Grandma walked away. I know that Grandma had no food to keep her alive, so we asked to take her in. She has been a blessing!

She will need braces for her teeth as soon as the Dominican Republic border opens, but she is always sweet, and always smiling!! She is in the 9th grade and wants to be a pediatrician! She still loves to jump rope and play dominoes. We love her very much!!
