“Divine Peace.” How can we get this when Haiti is full of evil… a pathetic world without hope? There is “no peace,” to them or anyone without the peace of the Lord. Living in Haiti for many years has taught me to “only rely on Jesus.” There are no fire departments if we should have a fire. Many hospitals are closed. Many banks are closed, so it’s difficult to cash a check. There is no protection from gangs.

We used to be able to go out for dinner on Sunday afternoons and pick up a few groceries from our favorite grocery store. But, the bank and the grocery store are on the “other side of the gangs.” If we need to call the police if the gangs come, the police are not coming our way! But the Bible says, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
