The border is still closed, but the Dominican side and Haitian sides were very nice to us and let us cross. Philimond, our right-hand man, did wonders today.
In Ganthier, the small city about 8 miles from us, the gangs have made a “big push” the last two nights to take over the town. The police and small soldier force, along with others, have done a wonderful job holding the “400 Mawozo” gang back. Yesterday, the “Haiti Air Ambulance” people (a Christian organization) made trips here to Love A Child to pick up the injured, and those who were shot. They do this without charge! The gun battles were not here but in Ganthier. We want to thank the police and the soldiers for a wonderful job well done.
As Sherry and I came into Fond Parisien today, we could not believe our eyes! Hundreds of people were walking down the road from Ganthier, coming into Fond Parisien, carrying all they had on their heads. This started two days ago. It looked like “the people leaving Gaza on foot!” Some had motorcycles with as many as five people on one. They looked so stressed and sad having to leave their homes to the gangs. It was heartbreaking, bringing tears to our eyes.
Please pray for the community of Gantheir. If the 400 Mawozo take the town, then we are in great peril. This community is full of brave men who are willing to fight to preserve and protect all of us. Pray for them! They are fighting as I write this post to you.
Is anyone going to come help the Haitian people? Please pray…
Special thanks to Dr. Higgins’ hospital that is down the road from us, as their surgeons have been doing a great job. God bless our Love A Child clinic staff for an outstanding job. Love is something you do…
Bobby and Sherry
P.S. Due to the gangs, many have asked us not to post their picture as they are afraid.
