Please pray for Jackson: Very important
Tomorrow will be Job’s surgery.
Update:
Yesterday, both Jackson and Job had appointments with doctors. Job had some x-rays taken of his leg and chest so that he can be cleared for surgery. The leg x-rays were for the surgeon. The chest x-rays were for the pneumologist.
Today Job will see the pneumologist and the cardiologist so that he can be cleared for surgery in the morning period. Just before the surgery, we will meet with the anesthesiologist. He is doing well.
The doctors are still trying to figure out why Jackson was having seizures. They thought it was due to high blood pressure. Yesterday evening at about 6 pm, Jackson had a consultation with a cardiologist. They did an EKG and ultrasound to check his heart.
Jackson has an enlarged heart. So the cardiologist told me get a specific test done (pro BNP) at a lab today. But the day was already full with other appointments, so I asked if I could take Jackson last night to the 24-hour lab. She said no problem. So I sent the nurses and Job home with Philemond and Jackson, and I went to get the test. After his blood was drawn, I took him back to the apartment at about 10 pm.
I was called in the middle of the night by the lab. They wanted me to come there “now.” They said Jackson’s results were not good. I got dressed and went to the lab immediately. They said I needed to take Jackson to the ER. They said his number was critical. They told me he was near heart failure. I told them he was on dialysis. They wanted to talk to the doctor.
I called the cardiologist who ordered the test, but could not get her to pick up. So I called the nephrologist. Thank God she took my call because I did not know what to do. The nephrologist was able to get through to the cardiologist. Both determined that he should finish his dialysis cycle.
The cardiologist ordered another test that is a 24 hour test. It needs to be started at a specific lab in the big hospital here. But because Jackson started dialysis so late, we need to wait for him to finish, and that will be after 10.
I am with Job now, getting bloodwork. We have an appointment with the pneumologist at 9. After, the nurses, Jackson and Philemond will meet me at the hospital. We will start the test for Jackson.
I will then take Job to the cardiologist.
The bottom line is that Jackson looks fine, but he is not well. His heart is not doing well. A BNP result of 400 means a trip to the doctor to prevent heart failure. Jackson’s number is 3500. Please pray that the doctors can figure out how to help him.
Jackson does not know. He looks fine and is acting normal.
Best,
