I never thought Noah would live… I know I have shared his story recently, but seeing him in his school uniform is such a miracle for me to see! You see when Noah was a baby, his mother (or relative) abandoned him in the bushes near our front gate. It was dark and our guys at the gate thought it was a cat or dog whining. They decided to wait until morning. But when morning came, they called us frantically! The toddler had been abandoned! When we brought him to our clinic he was on “death’s doorstep!” He had marks where someone had beaten him and “bitten him.” He had a swollen body and red hair from malnutrition. He could not walk or talk.
It seemed like years, instead of months, when he began to show improvement! Slowly he began to walk and to let us hug him! After months of good food and plenty of love, he began to turn into a little “bulldozer!” He was smart, strong, and not afraid of anything.
Noah is 8 and in 2nd grade at school. I never could understand why a child who had been tortured and abandoned, could turn out so confident, so strong, and so “assured of himself!” That’s what God’s love does for us… He finds us a “mess,” and a “throw-away,” and yet, He can take us and make something beautiful out of our lives!
Noah is sweet, smart, strong, and determined. He says he wants to be a teacher, but I can see him driving a big truck and everything scattering in his way! Ha! He is so full of self-confidence! That’s what our God can do! Thank you, partners.
