When Sarah and her brother were brought to us, both had severe Kwashiorkor Malnutrition. Their mother had died, and their father could not care for them. They were eating, but they were eating “the wrong kinds of food.” Both were horribly swollen by the time they were brought to us.
These little children came from one of the highest mountains far away… an area called “Covant.” After good care from our doctors, their swelling went down, and their health was much better.
Sarah was a typical teen. She did well in high school and wanted to study cosmetology and also learn how to do nails. She had a gift for “braiding black hair into those long, beautiful braids.” She was faster than any girl in her college class. She also learned to do those “long gel nails” better than anyone!
However, during this last year of college, she had terrible, painful eye problems. Sarah was under a doctor’s care for a long time. She is better now.
We hope and pray she will have a business at our “Gwo Maché Mirak!” We are so proud of Sarah.
