Lionel… What would make a father angry enough at his young son, that the father held his son’s hand down in boiling water?? Years ago, when Lionel was about seven we received a call from our Haitian attorney regarding a small boy who was found on the streets, with a badly burned hand. The child said that his father was angry at him and held his hand in boiling water. There were no “burn specialists” in Haiti to deal with this, so for many years his fingers “were burned together.” But about two years ago, we found a specialist in the Dominican Republic who thought he could perform surgery and separate the fingers. After much care, Lionel was able to use his fingers and bend them! God is so good! Lionel is 17, and wants to be a mechanic!! He is in 8th grade and is a good worker, kind, and respectful!
