Our Haitian kids are “driving us nuts!” They are anxiously waiting to go back to school. We know that many schools in the States have already opened and more will start soon. But here in Haiti, due to the gangs, schools will not start until October 1st!

We have all been through so much stress in the last two years due to the gangs. We were so blessed to have Jesse Ostrander come to Love A Child and bring school backpacks, tee shirts, underwear, etc! We still have lots to buy and perhaps five more pairs of shoes! (Some were measured incorrectly so we are still waiting on a few more!)

Special thanks to those of you who donated funds for the school backpacks! We still have to buy “blue socks” to match their uniforms, notebooks, pencils, pens, and hair-ribbons! (And… be sure to notice that all the girls had to have their hair extensions!) We will be so happy when the “first day of school” arrives! Thank you, partners!
