“A Time for Everything.”

We don’t really understand God’s “time clock.” “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven.” The first thing is: “A time to be born and a time to die.”

Some people think they are going to live forever. They do not think about God, about meeting Him face to face… They live, like there is “no tomorrow.” But, God cannot lie and His Word cannot lie. There is a time for everything.

Years ago, a friend of ours died. The couple was a great, Godly couple, and the man was an evangelist. To shorten the story, he got sick, went to the hospital, and died. His wife, who had great faith in God, wanted to leave him “connected to life support until Brother Bobby” could get there and pray for him.

We were traveling on the interstate, and we called his wife. Bobby explained how sorry he was, but his widow did not want to disconnect anything because “Brother Bobby” would pray for him, and he would be healed. It was a very sad situation.

Faith works, but it does not counter-act God’s Word. There is a “time to die.” I know God blessed the widow for her great faith, but it was “his time to join the Lord.”

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
