Getting Food for Hungry Children

Our greatest burden in Haiti is feeding hungry children. This coming week, we will be sending a container to the Dominican Republic to buy extra food items such as beans, rice, and cooking oil to distribute to those families in greatest need, outside of those we give food to monthly, from Feed My Starving Children. This food from the D.R. will go to the poorest areas that we have never reached before… they have nothing!

We pray that our containers of rice from Feed My Starving Children will be released soon from Haitian Customs so that we can give these out to missionaries who have orphanage and feeding programs. We had to cancel the last food distribution because all the containers had not yet been released from Customs, due to the political problems, and riots.

Little children in Haiti deserve at least “one good meal a day.” Many have red hair and are malnourished, and others are in conditions worse than this.

“Food is the bridge to sustainability” for families. The Creole proverb says, “an empty sack cannot stand.” Certainly, when children are hungry, they cannot stand, they are too weak… others who go to school in the mountains, are almost too weak to make it to school and back.

We want to thank all our partners for helping us feed the hungry children and their families in Haiti. More updates will be coming this week.
