There is a Creole Haitian proverb that says, “dirty clothes are washed with the family…” It really means, “things that happen in a family must stay in the family.”
Here, we see some of our Haitian children, “washing clothes by hand!” Actually, they are all “washing their underwear!” We can see the girls, Miliana, Daphline, and Yolanda… then, look at the boys washing their “undies,” too… Moses, Christian, and Daniel (and there’s more!)
I have always wondered why Haitian kids “wash their underwear,” by hand when we have “washing machines!” I can see the girls washing their undies, but I was amazed that the boys do the same thing. Well, they tell me, “a washing machine just can’t get them clean enough!” I really laugh at this but it is a “Haitian thing!” I am proud of them, cleaning, working, washing!!
They say, “Idle hands are the devil’s tools…” So, “the devil doesn’t stand a chance” with these kids! We are so proud of all our Love A Child kids!!! They are good kids, respectful, and work hard! Sherry
