This is a big weekend for everyone! All the Haitians are getting ready for Easter Sunday. Our children really look forward to it, but today, they get to ride on our “school bus,” and go down the road here in Fond Parisien, to the “Lake!” (Here in this area, there are no parks, no movie theaters, etc.)
There is a small place on the side of the road, not far from the D.R. Border. It is “just big enough to park our bus.” This is the place near the lake where people come to swim. Everyone brings lunch. There is a fee, but it is not much! We sent “Camy,” one of our tough, strong, male workers, and several others to watch over the boys and the girls!
This is the “only safe place in our area” to take the kids to! But the kids were all dressed in sun hats and sunglasses for the big “lake party!” They will be able to cook some hot dogs and have a Coke! Thank you to all our partners who have helped us financially with all these children! It has been a very “big job!” When I look over at all these kids, I think of one important thought for Haiti… birth control! Ha!
