A Cry from the Village in Boukan Pye…

A Cry from the Village in Boukan Pye…

“The Earth Never Gets Tired of My Feet…”

Just a few days ago, we sent some of our older “Love A Child” kids to this village, far from us. We heard about this village, and found out it was over a three-hour ride “straight up the mountains!”

We sent them to find the “poorest villages” to see if they had food and how we could help them. In the dry hills of Boukan Pye, they found a very poor woman named “Esilia Eximene,” the mother of twelve children, fighting to keep them alive.

She tries to grow a small garden so that her family won’t die of hunger and starvation. A drought had destroyed their little garden. They had a few animals that were stolen. A “helpless mother” cannot fight off thieves!

She would have loved to send her children to school, but when there is not enough money for food, school, school uniforms, and books for even one child, it was out of the question. Her family usually goes three to four days without food.

Some may be critical of Madamn Eximene having so many children, but when a woman in Haiti is poor and has one or two children, and her husband leaves her, of course, she will find another man to help, and she will get pregnant again.

Our team traveled over five hours by “four-wheel-drive,” so you can understand how it would be to keep her on birth control.

We will try to get our team back up there, and if so, we can bring more food and set her up in a job!

This has broken my heart.
