It was too dangerous to be on the other side of the lake, due to the fact that people had said there were gangs. We decided to feed the children and pass out bags of rice, beans, cooking oil, etc., and do this in a safe area on the side of the road, not far from the border.
All the ladies across the lake were given a “ticket.” When we arrived, they were standing in line with their tickets, singing and praising God, “ahead of time!” When our truck pulled up, our older “Love A Child boys,” were inside the truck, passing out large bags of rice, cooking oil and beans. This is a “complete meal” for Haitian families! The ladies left with a large sack on their heads, and other sacks in their arms, praising God and “thanking you,” our partners, for food!
Our older LAC boys (and older girls), “handled everything!” They set up our “Medical Tents” on the right side (not far from the border), and benches for children. Pastor Souffrance, from Peyi Pouri, brought down his wife and church ladies to cook delicious meals of beans, rice, and fish! Two of our older college girls, Bianca and Lovely, helped pass out food to the hungry children! We wish you could have been there!
Tonight you will see more pictures of the poor receiving their food… Sherry and I and the poor of Haiti want to thank you, “with all our hearts!”
Sherry
