In September 2017, this little baby was left in front of our gate here at Love A Child. Joshua was severely malnourished and had a skin infection. He seemed to be about 11 months old. He was so weak, that when other babies were crawling or sitting, he could not. He cried all the time. We finally had to send him to a hospital. They kept him for two weeks. He was such a “fussy baby.”
The Department of Social Services released Joshua to us when he left the hospital. He went through a lot of physical therapy, trips to the clinic, and through a lot of “patience…” but, love survived.
Today, he has no signs of being abandoned, malnourished, having skin problems, being unable to walk or talk… In fact, he is a “pistol!” Joshua laughs all the time. To sum it up, he is mischievous! He is always smiling, grinning, and hoping that I will dip into my “chocolate stash,” and come up with something for him and his other friends.
Joshua is very, very intelligent. He is in third grade at our Love A Child school. He is tough, smart, happy, and always into something!!! When he smiles, “you melt!” We love Joshua so much. We are so glad God left a “present” at our gate! Sherry
