A Lot of Potatoes Make up the Load!

“Anpil patat fe chay.” It is a Haitian Creole proverb that means, “a lot of sweet potatoes make up the load.” That’s so true… when all of us put in our “little bit,” it becomes a lot, and the Lord multiplies it, just like the little boy’s fishes and loaves!

When you “share your food with us,” we, in turn, share it with many others, who also feed children. One of our partners is the “Association of famns.” This sweet organization started years ago, after the earthquake. The women realized that the 2010 earthquake had left many children as orphans, and others were displaced and needed food. The ladies in the mountains, even though poor, put together what little they had and began to feed the children. Later, those children grew up and the ladies still took in children who needed food.

These sweet people wrote us today to thank us for the food we had given, but, if it weren’t for all of us, “putting our hands together,” none of these missionary organizations would have food. Feed My Starving Children collects the ingredients, and their partners sponsor the food ingredients and provide packers (in this case during Covid-19 they are doing everything by machine).

We must raise $10,000 per 40-foot container to get this food to Haiti and out of Haitian Customs and transported here to us, from the port. Our partners, like you, and many others, help us do this; this pays for transportation to get the food to Miami, and then it travels by boat to Haiti. Then, this is where all the $$$ comes in… getting it released from Haitian Customs.

After this, we send our driver to pick up the food from the port. This is “life-threatening,” each time he does this because gangs are waiting to attack the food! We are always so glad to see our driver “Casimi” pull in with the containers, because it is so, so dangerous due to street gangs!

So, each and every one of you “helped feed these little sweeties,” and many more! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

P.S. Once it gets to Love A Child, the food is locked in our food distribution warehouse, which Pastor Jentezen Franklin sponsored for us.
