Naderge Morilice is 40 years old. She has been crippled since the age of ten months old. She lives in Chambrun, Haiti, a predominately Voodoo village, but it also has a Christian church, where many people serve the Lord. She is a young woman that has faith in God!
We saw Naderge about a week ago when we did a food distribution in the village of Chambrun. She was dragging herself around on homemade crutches and had to have someone carry her sack of food and fish, to her little home.
She really needed to be able to go to church, to go and get water every day, and to make a little business, so that she could survive. One day last week, we sent some of our workers to the village with a brand new “PET bike” (Personal Energy Transportation) and when she saw it, she almost started crying! She began to praise God!!! She said, “Now, I can go to church every Sunday! I can go and get water and I can make my little business!” She just began to praise God again and again!
We want to thank PET and we want to thank Mobility Worldwide for donating these PETs. We can never imagine what it means to have “freedom to get around,” until we become immobilized, and especially when this happens to someone in a “third world country,” like Haiti! Although they cannot walk, they can sit on the bike and “peddle with their arms!”
This bike not only brought great joy to Naderge, but it brought great joy to our hearts too! Thank you, PET, and Mobility Worldwide, for all you do to help the poor and to help many have “mobility!” You have given them something that no one else can give them… “Dignity.” How can we ever thank you?
Missionaries Bobby and Sherry Burnette
P.S. Naderge sends her love!
