A Quiver Full of Arrows

“Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward […] Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” (Psalm 127:3,5)

We started our orphanage with four malnourished children, whose mother had died. She made me promise that when she died, we would take in her four children… and we did! We have had our “quiver full of arrows” for many years. It has been a blessing, but we can truly say that it has been “challenging raising 85 children in a country like Haiti!” It has not just been the culture difference, but in the last three years, kidnappings!! And, out of 85 children, you will always find one or two that can be a challenge, but most of them have been a great blessing. My advice to new missionaries would be, “take deep breaths, pray, and remember who’s boss!” Ha!

P.S. Out of 85 children, one has gone to be with Jesus, eight are married with children, four are in the States, one is in Jamaica in college, and one is in Italy with a degree in radiology. She will be looking for a job in the U.S. or another country. God is good! Thank you, Partners, for saving lives and making an impact!! Bobby and Sherry
