Carline Jules is a young 18-year-old girl from the mountains of Foret, Haiti! Her parents are poor but they have managed to raise a family…They live with relatives, so there are nine people in a small, block home.
While living with her family, Carline became pregnant. You can imagine how she left…It would be “one more mouth to feed” in a country that is poor. Carline suffered much throughout her pregnancy… She lost “the will to live.” She did not want to be a burden on her family. The father of the child did not want anything to do with the pregnancy. Each day was filled with sadness, fear, and insecurity. But, things were about to change for Carline…
When she entered our “Love A Child Maternity Center,” she found love and peace! She was welcomed with “joy!” The doctors and nurses treated her like “royalty!” They knew she was having a difficult time, but with prayer and love, comfort, and support, she “became alive!” She received the best of care, advice, and lots of prayer.
With each visit, she began to look forward to seeing her baby! She had told our doctors that she had been so distressed that she had headaches, lower pain, and depression. But, the moment finally arrived when she began to briing a baby into the world… Little “Elisson Julbert” arrived safe and sound, weighing 2.7 kg, and measuring 48 cm. Carline received a “baby kit” with diapers, clothing, etc. She was “very happy!”
Carline’s story clearly shows that when “love” and “compassion” are shown, a life can change!
God bless all our wonderful partners, and we give God all the glory for everything!
