What a wonderful blessing to these poor mothers! Yesterday afternoon, we brought large sacks of food loaded with beans, rice, and cooking oil to some of the families in Old Letant! These mothers had recently moved into the village, and their men had built “kay pays” (pronounced kay pies), “mud huts,” for them to live in… Very primitive lifestyles. They had no food until our truck pulled up with sacks of food so heavy that it was difficult to lift them!! But they all managed! “Blessed is he that considereth the poor…” (Psalm 41:1)
Thank you, partners, who sent in funds for us to purchase this food in the Dominican Republic when Haitian Customs was closed. At that time, all of our food from “Feed My Starving Children” was locked in Customs due to political turmoil in Haiti. These sacks contain beans, rice, and cooking oil from the Dominican Republic, and this has helped to meet a great need during perilous times.
