This is Joshua. His story is like many other children’s stories… He was “thrown away” by his mother! She passed by our gate and when no one was looking, she abandoned him in the weeds! He was severely malnourished. When he was about a year old, he still could not sit or crawl! We had to send him to a Children’s Hospital. He was there for two weeks, and they took good care of him. When he got back, the Department of Children’s Services released him to us!
From that day on, Joshua changed! There wasn’t a thing he could not try to do! And when he learned how to talk well, “he has never stopped!” Joshua has a little stuttering problem because he has too much to say and can’t get it out fast enough! Ha! He wants to be a doctor! His chores are “picking up trash,” cleaning his room, and helping to feed the animals! He loves puzzles and toys! He will probably change his thoughts, but when he is determined – nothing will stop him! We love Joshua!
