Today was the first session for Wilner and the four families selected from LeTant village to begin teaching them some methods of sustainable agriculture. Pastor Sorel of LeTant had asked if we could extend our agriculture teachings to their village. Today they began learning how to prepare a good growing “soil” from the materials they have available to them, and how to make “gardens” out of re-purposed tires, because they have very poor, rocky soil which doesn’t support traditional gardening. Within a few months, these families will be harvesting their new crops, and on their way to self-sustainability thanks to the extension program of our Agricultural Training Center. The village families participating in this new project are Pierre Wilbert, Exeland Roland, Louis Dieunor, and Pierre Dechanel.
