“Alms giving” is found in Acts 10:4 where we read that an angel of God appears to Cornelius and says, “Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.” This means giving to the poor and hungry is not “tithes,” but it is “alms.” (Psalms 41:1-3)
