Bobby and I will be celebrating our anniversary today. I met Bobby in an “old-fashioned” Gospel Tent Revival in Orlando, Florida. We were just teenagers when we met. My mother and I and one of her friends had gone together. The “tent revival” minister was “Bea Medlin!” She was such a powerful evangelist!

After the meeting, a tall, thin “evangelist-looking” guy named “Bobby Burnette” was talking to my mother and me, and some friends. Our church in Rockledge, Florida, was having a “Valentine’s Banquet” for the youth at our church. I didn’t have a “date,” so I asked the tall, skinny, shy southern boy, “Bobby Burnette,” to come to our Valentine’s Banquet.

We went to the banquet together, and that night, he asked me to marry him, and I said, “Yes!” We were married two years later! My father had always been an alcoholic, and I had always prayed that the Lord would give me a Christian husband who didn’t “drink,” and one who would love me through the years. God gave me the best!

For you young ladies who are not yet married, you need to pray for the Lord to “pick a good husband for you,” as He did for me! I am “blessed!”
