Yesterday the ATC (Agricultural Training Center) staff had another big harvest from the Love A Child gardens.
These large, productive gardens have become even more important lately because the gang-controlled roads often prevent us from getting to any markets to buy fresh produce.
There are 5 kitchens at Love A Child to feed all the children and the various workers that take care of the grounds, the Jesus Healing Center and the Birthing Center clinics, and the schools. These gardens are a part of our “Development for Sustainability” outreaches, which help Haitians learn how to help themselves for the long run.
Our sustainability programs offer skills training, jobs, and employment and promote enterprises as a way to break the cycle of poverty with dignity. Here you see the big harvest of hot peppers, carrots, leeks, limes, and spinach. These skilled gardeners have a happy life and are proud to help feed the children and staff, all due to your support of our sustainability outreach.
Thank you for providing this blessing.
