This week, Wilner and the ATC staff (Agricultural Training Center) had another big harvest of different crops from their large gardens, which they delivered to the kitchens at the Children’s Home, Jesus Healing Center, and the Birthing Center. These big, beautiful, healthy vegetables are always welcomed in the Love A Child kitchens and make for a joyous day. The children, the maternity patients, and staff will enjoy this fresh broccoli, eggplants, peppers, spinach, and leeks. These big harvests are always appreciated and cause a spontaneous celebration each time the guys deliver their fresh vegetables to the kitchens. We are all eager for safety and security to return to Haiti so we can resume our popular three-week residential training course – Sustainable Gardening in Haiti. Some of the children in the Children’s Home are now enrolled in our 2-year sustainable agriculture training course because they see the benefit of being able to follow God’s principles to produce their own food. Anyone who gardens knows the pleasure of their own harvests and the great feeling of accomplishment and pride from providing for themselves and your family.
Thank you to those partners who help by supporting our Sustainability Programs, which offer development for sustainability by teaching new skills and training, helping provide small business opportunities, and providing food for life.
