Beans and More Beans!

We are getting ready for another large feeding program, but this time, far in the mountains of Haiti. Where we are going, these families and children have not had much protein or food of any kind for a long time.

We want to thank our partners who sponsored this 20-foot container of black beans that came all the way from the States. Black beans are outrageously over-priced here in Haiti! We could never have afforded to buy this many beans here. Now, in addition to feeding children hot meals, families will go home with black beans and Feed My Starving Children rice!

We always think about the Bible story of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man had more food than he knew what do with, while poor Lazarus, the beggar, didn’t even have “crumbs,” so he sat at the gate of the rich man, his body oozing with sores, trying to get “just a little,” while the rich man kept stuffing his face. We know the end of both.

God help us always to help the poor.

P.S. I want to say “thank you” to our little helpers, Noah, Samuel, Joshua, and Kenzy!
They didn’t get lot of work done, but they had fun trying!!
