Beautiful and Smart!

She has turned into a beautiful, intelligent, and hardworking young lady. We first saw Esther when she was about three months old; her sister, Widelene, was about five years old. Her mother came to the gate of our house in the mountains, before we moved to Fond Parisien. The mother, Madamn Jesula, said she was dying and wanted to find a home for her children before that happened. We sent the mother to a hospital, paid her bills, and when she was released, we took her and the children into our home. The doctor said she was frail, hadn’t eaten much, and was extremely anemic! We gave her a job at our orphanage.

Now, Esther is in her last year of high school. She has always wanted to become a vet, but there are no colleges for this in Haiti. We will have to send her to a French speaking country, but we still have time for her to pray about what God would have her do. Esther is very intelligent and sweet! She is hardworking, loves to clean and help, and loves to put “difficult puzzles” together! And she is a terror at dominos!! Ha! The kids call her “Tet,” which means “Head!” That’s because she is a leader!!
