Many times, we overlook the “small stuff.” But when God is trusting us, He wants us to be faithful over the “small stuff,” as much as the “big stuff!” We were asked to speak at a certain church in California years ago. The Pastor was a “great man of God.” Even when we would go to lunch with him, all things of conversation would shift to a Bible verse and the Lord. The first time we went to his church, it was on a weekday. We didn’t think there would be anyone in the church, but we found people “dusting the musical instruments,” sweeping, cleaning windows, etc. When we talked to them, greeting them, they were so happy, working! They would say, “My job is to dust and clean the piano,” or, “My job is to clean the bathrooms,” etc. It was amazing because they were “working with great joy!” They were all volunteers!

The Word of God teaches us “not only to give money,” but to give our time, and do it joyfully, even if it is small. We all want to hear those words one day, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things: I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:23
